I am at the point of winter where I just feel like I will never be warm again or see green grass again. There is just so much snow on the ground. I don’t understand where it could all go. There are piles of it bigger than me. Plus, we just got our heat bill from last month and now Anthony is trying to freeze me out. I am wearing jackets and hats inside. I’m considering putting on gloves.
This chili seasoning is sure to heat up your kitchen. Chili is the perfect winter food and this seasoning makes it taste amazing. I do think that it is a bit spicy, so you could get rid of the red pepper flakes if you don’t like heat. Anthony likes things spicy, so we tend to add red pepper flakes to most seasonings. I like to try to make my own seasoning mixes, because I know what is in them and it really is super easy to do. Also don’t confuse chili powder with cayanne pepper. I have done that before and I wouldn’t suggest it unless you like SUPER spicy chili. Next week I’ll share my chili recipe!
Yields – 2 servings
Prep time – 7 minutes
- 4 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
- 1 tablespoon dried, minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Mix all the ingredients together and store in a plastic bag.
